What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?
The Melbourne Mindfulness Centre and Still Mind is run by Colin Thompson, a registered counselling psychologist who has studied at Monash University and most recently counselled at the Cairnmillar Institute in Camberwell, and Mingary Counselling at St Michaels, in the city.
Colin initially trained as a nuclear physicist in Australia and the UK. While working as a scientist in Sydney, Iceland and England, he developed an interest in Carl Jung and in Eastern religions. He has made a number of trips to India to study and practice Eastern ideas, principally Buddhism. He studied at the Jung Institute in Zurich and has been a member of the Melbourne Jung Society for 15 years undergoing a three year Jungian analysis. He has practiced yoga and meditation for over 30 years.

Colin has two adult children and practices in Prahran as well as teaching psychology to Naturopathy students at the Southern School of Natural Therapies.
